YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy is learnt to have decided to kick-start his massive campaign as part of final showdown with the ruling Telugu Desam Party from Vijayawada, which has now turned into an epicenter for Andhra Pradesh politics.
Unlike in the past, when the plenary of the YSR Congress party was held in Hyderabad, Jagan has decided to hold the party plenary at Vijayawada on July 8 and 9 coinciding with the birth anniversary of late chief minister Dr Y S Rajasekhar Reddy.
As a run-up to the grand event district plenary meetings would be held on June 19, 20 and 21 in which major issues would be discussed and the future course of action would be formulated, party senior leader Ummareddy Venkateswarlu told reporters here on Friday.
The decentralised process would continue with constituency level meetings being held in the last week of May. In the same way extended meetings would be held in all districts of Telangana, he said.
The plenary would sound the poll bugle to activate the party at all levels to face the elections in 2019.
It would come out with a series of programmes for the next two years so as to expose the TDP government’s inefficient administration, party sources said.
