Jagan To Meet Modi Shortly?

Jagan To Meet Modi Shortly?

If reports from political sources in New Delhi are to be believed, YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy might soon have a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi sometime during this month.

According to these reports, a senior YSR Congress party MP has been seriously lobbying for an appointment of the Prime Minister for Jagan during the ongoing budget session itself.

Since it is quite common for the MPs to get access to the Prime Minister when Parliament is in session, the party MP is understood to have asked Modi’s time for half an hour.

Though it is not exactly known what the response of Modi was, sources say the YSRC MP is confident of getting Modi’s appointment for Jagan.

If it materialises, the YSRC chief will take a break from his padayatra to go to Delhi for meeting the Prime Minister.

“If it happens on Friday, it is easier for him. He can rush to Delhi soon after attending the court proceedings in Hyderabad,” a source said.

The purpose of the meeting, however, is not known. May be with elections fast approaching, Jagan might seek clarity on the alliance between the YSRC and the Bharatiya Janata Party.

At the same time, he might also ask the PM’s help in coming out of the CBI cases at the earliest.

If the meeting really takes place, as per these reports, it will be a big embarrassment to the Telugu Desam Party, particularly its president and chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who has kept his finger crossed over the continuation of alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party.

And that might further widen the gap between the two alliance partners.
