Jagan Scared, After Satyam Raju Verdict?

Jagan Scared, After Satyam Raju Verdict?

With the Nampally criminal court sentencing B Ramalinga Raju, founder of Satyam Computers, with seven years' imprisonment besides slapping a fine of Rs 5 crore in connection with the multi-crore accounting fraud, focus has now shifted on to the fate of YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.

The CBI court has commenced trial into the disproportionate assets case of Jagan, taking into cognizance the charge sheets filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation.

Simultaneously, the Enforcement Directorate has been going on attachment spree, attaching properties of Jagan and his “quid pro quo” business associates.

The trials are now in advanced stage and every now and then, Jagan is compelled to attend the court proceedings.

After the Thursday’s verdict against Ramalinga Raju, an uneasy calm prevailed in Jagan camp.

According to sources, the Modi government has refused to come to the rescue of Jagan by intervening in the case at this stage.

“If not immediately, Jagan may have to face the same situation one day or the other. He might not be getting the same kind of punishment, but it would certainly damage his political career,” they said.
