With YS Jagan announcing that he will visit President Pranab Mukherjee to urge action against Chandrababu Naidu in the ‘vote-for-cash’ scandal, the issue is all set to take center stage in Delhi.
There is a section of the TDP that is trying to rouse public sentiment against Jagan by saying that he is siding with Telangana against the Andhra CM.
But Jagan’s perception is completely different. But for the propaganda of the TDP, Jagan would not have been handicapped by the CBI investigation today. His imprisonment kept him away from the public and resulted in restricting the YSRCP to 67 seats.
Needless to say, had Jagan spent that time among the public, there would have been a fair chance for him to have bagged the CM’s chair.
The TDP was ruthless in its persecution of the YSRCP and it is doubtful whether they would have adopted a more lenient stance towards Jagan in a divided state. Hence, YS Jagan is not having any of regional nonsense in trying to nail his arch rival.
Opportunities like these do not come often and Jagan is not going to be swayed by regional emotions in trying to make life as miserable as possible for Naidu. They would have done the same in the game of politics.
