Jagan Gets Ready For Early Polls!

Jagan Gets Ready For Early Polls!

The surprising call given by Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu to his party cadre to be prepared for early polls to the state assembly and Parliament put the opposition parties on high alert.

YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, who has been planning for a series of agitation programmes to attack the Naidu government, was taken by surprise and sounded high alert to his party leaders and cadre.

He summoned popular political strategist Prashant Kishor to Vijayawada on Saturday and held serious deliberations on the strategy to be adopted in the event of early polls.

Sources said Prashant Kishor told Jagan that there was still a long way to go for the elections and Naidu must be playing only a mind game.

“Even if wants to go for snap polls, they would not be held before October or November 2018. So, there is still one-and-a-half years’ time to for elections. We can plan our election strategies by then,” the strategist reportedly told Jagan.

For now, Jagan is planning to launch a two-day deeksha at Guntur to highlight the farmers’ problems.

Nevertheless, he asked his senior party colleagues Y V Subba Reddy and V Vijay Sai Reddy to start working on the party manifesto and come out with new schemes that would attract the voters in the next elections, say sources.
