Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao made every effort to draw maximum political mileage during the immersion procession of Khairatabad Ganesh.
The TRS government on Monday caused raining of roses on the giant Kailasa Viswaroopa Ganapathi idol at Khairatabad while it was proceeding for immersion in Hussainsagar lake. The KCR government reportedly procured three quintals of roses and rained them on the huge idol from a helicopter in the evening.
Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy, DGP Anurag Sharma and Hyderabad city police commissioner Mahendar Reddy were seated in the copter.
When the flowers rained on the idol, the excited devotees shouted slogans like “Jai Ganesha, Jai Telangana and Jai KCR”.
The devotees patiently waited for hours to witness the rare show at around 5.30 pm. There was a stampede on the occasion.
