I-T Raids In Karnataka Startle Naidu?

I-T Raids In Karnataka Startle Naidu?

The latest raids by the Income Tax department sleuths on the properties of Karnataka Energy Minister D K Sivakumar and his associates and also of H C Mahadevappa, the right hand of chief minister Siddaramaiah in different parts of Karnataka seem to have had their echo in Andhra Pradesh.

Apparently, Andhra Pradesh chief minister and Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu is also feeling the tremors of Karnataka.

He seems to be apprehensive that there would be Income Tax raids on him and his family concern Heritage Group shortly.

Simultaneously, there could be investigations by Central Bureau of Investigations into the complaints of irregularities in Pattiseema and Polavaram irrigation projects.

Though the raids might not disclose any earth shaking disproportionate assets (as Naidu is clever enough to see that all the dealings are only underhand), I-T raids and CBI interrogation for a couple of days are enough to tarnish his image.

The Opposition party will lose no time in attacking the TDP by cashing in on the situation.

That is precisely why Naidu expressed apprehensions that the BJP government at the centre might target him for criticizing the PM.

“I have seen how Pawan Kalyan who was with us has been turned into a foe. BJP turned him into a puppet. I have no fear as I have not committed any crime, nor I will let anyone commit a crime,” Naidu said addressing Panchayati Raj Day celebrations in Dwarapudi of East Godavari district.
