Hyderabad Turns Hell: What's KTR Doing?

The entire city of Hyderabad has turned into a hell with the heavy rains in the recent past totally ravaging the city roads. Whether it is old city or new city or Hitech city, there is absolutely no difference and the roads are full of potholes, craters and breaches.

The horrible condition of the city has exposed the hollowness of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi government, particularly Minister for Urban Development K T Rama Rao, who boasted of converting Hyderabad into another Dallas.

Before the GHMC elections, KTR had announced a 100-day action plan for beautifying the city and developing it as clean and green. But it has only turned from bad to worse.

No wonder, people are now questioning KTR directly through letters and tweets. Senior Congress leader and former MP V Hanumanth Rao demanded that KTR resign immediately for failing to maintain proper roads in the city.

“All roads in Hyderabad were in extremely bad shape. Poor maintenance of storm water drains was leading to stagnation at several places and many roads were literally turning into pools after every drizzle,” he said.

Announcing that he would hold a day-long dharna on September 21, he said that KTR has failed to Monsoon Action Plan and travelling on city roads was proving to be a nightmare for all citizens. He said KTR was busy only in receiving awards and meeting foreign delegates.
