The devastating cyclone Hudhud that wreaked havoc in Visakhapatnam and other north-coastal districts seems to have brought some relief to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, though it caused untold hardship to people.
For the last one week, Naidu has been focusing on relief works in the coastal districts and media focus was entirely on how he has been tackling the situation and providing relief to the people.
In the process, people, leave alone media, have forgotten the fact that the crop loan waiver scheme which was supposed to be implemented from October 15, has been put on hold.
Naidu has been struggling to implement the loan waiver scheme after the RBI refused to entertain the requests. Though he announced that he would issue bonds and get the loans rescheduled, the scheme has not been implemented.
In the meantime, Hudhud cyclone hit the coastal Andhra and Naidu capitalized on the same. He got himself busy with the relief operations and nobody could question him on the loan waiver scheme!
