This was brought to light by a blogger who has been exposing the misdeeds of the Chandrababu Naidu government right from the beginning. Unfortunately, the media in Andhra Pradesh, which has surrendered to Naidu, has been completely ignoring such misdeeds.
A couple of days ago, a pillar of the Kanaka Durga temple flyover which is under construction has collapsed.
Except a small report in Eenadu and a couple of other local dailies, none of the media bothered to find out why the pillar under construction collapsed. All that those small bits that were published said was that there were no casualties in the incident.
Eenadu report went a step ahead said the contractor has been taking utmost precautions in constructing the flyover in the wake of recent Kolkata flyover incident; and that he had taken enough care to diver the traffic from the area to prevent casualties when the accident took place.
According to the blogger, this is ridiculous on the part of the media, including Sakshi which should have highlighted the issue. None of the dailies pointed out that it was the lapse of the contractor. It clearly indicated that the quality of works was not up to the mark.
One can imagine the extent of damage, had the pillar collapsed after the completion of the flyover. And they are giving clean chit to the contractor!
