Political speculations are rife in TRS party circles that party's key strategist and trouble shooter, irrigation minister T Harish Rao has been facing an "unofficial ban" in Hyderabad.
This is because the minister is seen nowhere in Hyderabad for days together and has been confining to Medak district.
Even in the huge public meeting convened by TRS at Parade Grounds in Secunderabad on Saturday for GHMC elections, Harish Rao was missing while the entire cabinet ministers and other TRS leaders were present in full strength.
One may argue that Harish is not seen because he was assigned Narayankhed Assembly bypoll responsibility in Medak district, but all other TRS leaders from Medak district were also present at Parade Grounds.
Ever since, KCR started promoting KTR openly by giving him GHMC election responsibility and asking Harish Rao to confine to Medak and not to interfere in GHMC elections, Harish is said to have felt insulted and humiliated in front of all other TRS leaders.
Because, without Harish Rao, TRS never went to any election since its inception in 2001 till Medak Lok Sabha byelection in 2014.
However, the situation turned worse for him since Warangal Lok Sabha by poll recently, when KTR was assigned major task and Harish was given insignificant task.
This became even worse with GHMC elections, where he was asked to stay not even in Hyderabad and confine to Medak.
While Harish is not coming out in open, his supporters are angry at the ill-treatment being meted out to a mass leader and popular leader of TRS who even during turbulent times for TRS during YSR regime, worked sincerely to strengthen the party and won Assembly elections from Siddipet with record majorities while Opposition parties lost deposits everytime they contested against Harish.
Though TRS is in dire need of the services of an efficient leader like Harish for GHMC elections, he was kept away just because he may overshadow the image of KTR with his mass appeal.
Adding insult to the injury, KCR announced promotion for KTR in the public meeting itself by making him municipal administration minister and saying that he will handover the responsibility of development of Hyderabad to his son.
