Harikrishna Patches Up With Naidu?

Harikrishna Patches Up With Naidu?

The surprising appearance at the Monday's politburo meeting of the Telugu Desam Party headed by chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu was that of his elder brother-in-law Nandamuri Harikrishna, father of popular young hero Junior NTR.

Harikrishna has been a politburo member of the TDP for a long time, but he has not been attending any of the meetings for the last three years.

He did not even attend the party’s Mahanadu, as he used to do in the past. And quite often, he was making very critical comments against Naidu and his government.

Junior NTR, too, who had campaigned for the TDP in 2009 elections, stayed away from the electioneering in 2014 and has been keeping away from the party activities.

So, naturally, Harikrishna’s presence at the politburo meeting raised many an eyebrow. Apparently, a lot of backroom negotiation seems to have taken place before he attended the meeting.

It is not immediately known whether he has expressed any views in the meeting on any issue, but sources say he also endorsed the decision of the politburo to nominate Naidu’s son Lokesh for the MLC seat under MLAs’ quota.

Sources say Harikrishna might have patched up with Naidu, since he had no option. Apparently, his younger brother Nandamuri Balakrishna has been trying to bring the entire family together, since Lokesh is his own son-in-law.

May be Naidu has assured to take care of Harikrishna’s political interests.
