Gunasekhar bounced back with the historical film "Rudhramadevi". The film was not a blockbuster but it did good business and created mega buzz around it and starred Anushka in the title role.
Despite many flaws in the movie, film lovers appreciated Gunasekhar’s efforts for his attempt to tell the story of a famous Telugu queen.
Since the release of “Rudhramadevi”, he has been waiting to kick start the sequel “Prataparudra” but he is still waiting for a big hero to provide him dates.
He wants a star like NTR Jr, Ram Charan or Mahesh Babu to do the role of “Prataparudra” but none of them are showing interest. They fear that it would consume precious time of their career.
Buzz in the industry is that he is now looking for Tamil heroes to convince them to portray the role. Rana would have suited best for the role but he had already acted in “Rudhramadevi” as Anushka’s husband.
