Fact Sheet: Shortcut To Moksha!

Fact Sheet: Shortcut To Moksha!

The Krishna Pushkarams are scheduled to begin on August 12 and CBN and his team are dancing in delight.

The preliminary estimate for the Pushkarams have been pegged at Rs 3,846 crore for various development works and this is just the preliminary estimate.

The government plans to construct at least 125 new bathing ghats and renovate around 150 temples on the banks of the river Krishna in Kurnool, Guntur and Krishna districts.

The focus will be on constructing approach roads in the three districts. No department wants to miss out on the action.

The roads and buildings department has sought Rs 1,961 crore while the irrigation department has put forward proposals worth Rs 664 crore. The other proposals include municipal administration and urban development worth Rs 970 crore, Panchayati raj department Rs 140 crore and health department Rs 48 crore.

For the Godavari Pushkarams, nearly Rs 3000 crore was spent. 30 people died on the opening day of the Pushkarams in a stampede at Rajahmundry.

The CM’s presence for a video shoot there was reportedly one of the factors leading to the stampede. Innocent pilgrims had come there to take a dip and wash off their sins but CBN presented them with straightaway ‘Moksha’.

Going by the horribly inefficient manner in which the Godavari Pushkarams were conducted, how can anyone sanction such huge funds for the Krishna Pushkarams?

As for the pilgrims, they would do well to find out which bathing ghat CBN will be attending on day one and avoid it at all means. Otherwise, it will be direct moksha for them.
