While the entry of former Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy into the Congress will not yield any immediate benefits to the party in AP except moral support to the cadre, he is expected to play a far more decisive role for the Party in Telangana.
The Congress has a presence in Telangana but is lacking in proper strategy to take on KCR.
Kiran is known to be master strategist behind the scenes and he proved this when he became Chief Minister in a Party notorious for in-fighting.
Also, what works in his favour is that he has many friends among the T-Congress leaders who worked with him when he was the Chief Minister. In fact, Kiran has more supporters among the T-Congress leaders than in Andhra.
All of them are now looking to draw on the experience of Kiran to come out with a strong strategy for the Telangana Congress to strike it big in the 2019 elections.
Even Rahul Gandhi in a separate interaction with Kiran in Delhi has reportedly given Kiran the mandate to work towards this objective.
Finally, the Congress in Telangana has someone to give them direction. Couldn’t have happened at a better time for them.
