Ex-CBI Officer Has RSS Background?

Lending credence to the speculations that former IPS officer and ex-joint director of CBI V V Lakshminarayana might join the Bharatiya Janata Party soon, latest reports revealed that he was associated with Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh during his college days.

Lakshminarayana, who is presently touring different parts of the state, has been very cautious in making statements on his political plans.

“I will take a decision on my future course of action in a couple of months,” he told the media in Srikakulam on Friday.

However, his statement that he would fight against the present TDP government if it did not reopen the Amadalavalasa Sugar Factory and that he would take it up with the Central government for the same indicated that he was getting closer to the BJP.

Lakshminarayana is also refusing to make any harsh comments against the BJP on not granting special category status.

“I am extremely confident that the Centre will understand the aspirations of the people of the state for special category status,” he said.

Inquiries revealed that Lakshminaryanad was a member of RSS shakha during his college days in Kurnool and has strong spiritual leanings. He has immense faith in Hindutva ideology, a source said.

Going by this, it is being speculated that he might join the BJP and might emerge as the party’s star campaigner in the next elections, thanks to his clean image and sincerity.

He might be fielded either from Kurnool or Guntur in the next Lok Sabha elections.

He has a lot of following among the youth and neutrals; so, it might fetch a lot of mileage to the BJP, if it can rope him.
