ESL to stay, disappointment for Vemuri

It is really disappointing news for Andhra Jyothy MD Vemuri Radhakrishna and of course, his boss Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

The Centre on Friday made it clear that there was no plan to transfer E S L Narasimhan from the post of Governor.

“The Centre is not thinking to shift Narasimhan, the Governor of two States of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh,” Union Minister Nirmala Sitharaman told media in New Delhi. “The Governor will remain to function normally,” she said.

Nirmala said that there was no truth in reports in a section of media that the Centre will shift the Governor.

“The Governor is not acting on his own,” she said adding that Narasimhan was just implementing the decisions of the Cabinets of the two State Governments.

For the last few days, Radhakrishna had been planting stories in Andhra Jyothy against Narasimhan alleging that the latter was favouring only Telangana and acting against the interests of Andhra Pradesh.

Quoting reliable sources, AJ had written that Narasimhan would be shifted anytime and replaced by Kerala Governor Sathasivan.

But that is not going to happen now, much to the disappointment of Radhakrishna.
