Responding to Pawan Kalyan's request on not to ahead with forcible land acquisition, Finance Minister of AP, Yanamala Ramakrishnudu ridiculed it saying, “It is not proper on the part of Pawan Kalyan to advise against use of Land Acquisition Act. He should have suggested how to develop new capital city without acquiring land. We are not Viswamitras to build a Trishanku heaven without land.”
Wow Yanamala! Your grasp of mythology is indeed great. But who asked you to build a new capital city from scratch?
Is there a single person in AP who following the bifurcation asked for the construction of a new capital? Everyone was expecting Vizag, Vijayawada, Ongole or Kurnool to be made the capital.
All that would have then been required was to convert a few buildings for the purpose of Assembly, Raj Bhavan, Secretariat, High Court etc. Shifting of government employees also would be very easy.
Which citizen asked for the construction of a completely new city by encroaching on 33000 acres of fertile agricultural lands plus another 70000 acres for urban housing?
Only a person without any environmental consciousness will take such a decision. And there is absolutely no transparency in the deal with Singapore.
Should something go wrong tomorrow, the Singapore companies cannot be blamed as they have safeguarded themselves by inserting a clause absolving them of all responsibility.
And farmers and people of Andhra Pradesh are just pawns in this game.
