Earlier Defector Opposes Latest Defector!

The defection of YSR Congress party MLA from Nandyal Bhuma Nagi Reddy and his daughter Akhila representing Allagadda into the Telugu Desam Party has not been taken kindly by the local TDP leaders.

Allagadda TDP in-charge Gangula Pratap Reddy and his brother Gangula Prabhakar Reddy have strongly opposed the admission of Bhuma family members into the TDP.

Gangula brothers said Bhuma’s entry would cause a lot of heartburn among the local TDP cadres, who had suffered a lot in the hands of the Bhuma family. They said they would have a meeting soon to decide on the future course of action.

“We will meet TDP president and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and explain him the ground realities in Nandyal and Allagadda,"” Pratap Reddy said.

Ironically, Gangula brothers were also defectors into the TDP. Traditionally, they were Congress supporters and had been engaged in faction feuds with When Bhuma family for several years.

When Bhuma family was in the TDP in the past, Gangula brothers were strongmen in the Congress party. After the bifurcation of the State, the Congress was completely decimated and the Gangula brothers had no option but to join the TDP. They had no problems, as Bhuma family joined the YSR Congress party. Now with Bhumas also joining the TDP, Gangula brothers are feeling insecure.

“Both of us might compromise with each other, but at the field-level, our followers cannot mingle,” Gangula said.
