Don't Play With Sentiments, Mr Modi

Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has realised that he has no option but to aggressively with regard to special category status and that if he has to win back the confidence of the people, he should attack none other than Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Naidu, who led a three-km long cycle rally from Venkatayapalem village in Amaravati to State legislative assembly at Velagapudi, made hard-hitting comments against the Prime Minister before commencing the rally.

He was joined by his cabinet colleagues, including his son Nara Lokesh, besides several MLAs, MLCs and party leaders.

Naidu garlanded the statue of NTR and addressed the party workers and villagers at Venkatayapalem.

Warning Modi of serious consequences in the coming days, if he tried to belittle the people of Andhra Pradesh.

“Don’t play with the sentiments of the Telugu people. You will disappear into the history, if you look down upon them,” he said.

He said the Centre was undermining the power of the Telugu people.

“Modi thinks AP is the weak state and if he can weaken the TDP, he can gain control over the state with the help of his new found friends. But, it cannot happen.

He should remember what had happened to former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi who tried to topple the NTR government in 1984. Similarly, the Congress party had been completely routed for dividing the combined state.

Modi will have to meet the same fate, if he tries to play with the TDP and the Telugu people,” he warned.

The chief minister also demanded immediate implementation of all the promises made by the NDA during the bifurcation of then united Andhra in the State Reorganisation Act.
