The Centre has taken serious note of the threat posed by Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao that he would stage a dharna at Jantar Mantar in Delhi demanding bifurcation of High Court and justice to the agitating lawyers.
Union law minister Sadanand Goud on Tuesday warned KCR against criticising the Centre for the division of High Court.
Responding to the memorandum submitted by a team of Telangana lawyers and others over the ongoing situation in Hyderabad HC, he was serious over KCR deciding to stage dharna at Jantar Mantar over the bifurcation issue.
“If you want to stage a dharna in Delhi, we don’t mind, but it will not yield any result. Don’t try to behave like Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for the sake of sensationalising the issues,” he said.
The minister pointed out that as per the AP Reorganisation Act, the issue should be discussed by the Chief Justice and Chief Minister and resolved amicably.
“We have already expressed our readiness to divide the High Court,” he said.
