Does It Not Apply To Owaisi As Well?

Does It Not Apply To Owaisi As Well?

While all eyes were on the verdict of the Bihar polls and on the major parties, it was an equally significant election also for the MIM which is trying to convert itself into a pan-Indian party and entered the political fray in Bihar for the first time.

After the results of the Bihar elections were out, MIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi said the Bihar assembly election result is a personal defeat of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

"It's a personal defeat of Modi as never before a prime minister campaigned so much in an election. The atmosphere in Bihar was that Modi should be defeated. Muslims and other communities had decided to defeat Modi," he said.

What Owaisi said is fine. But why did the MIM which contested in six constituencies, fail to win even one despite active campaigning by the Owaisi brothers? Going by the same logic, does it mean a personal defeat of the Owaisi brothers?

And if the agenda of the Muslims in Bihar was to defeat Modi, why did they not vote for MIM which trumpets itself as a true representative of Muslims?

Hiding behind the defeat of the NDA, MIM and the Owaisi brothers are deflecting barbs aimed at them.
