At last, former union minister and veteran director Dasari Narayana Rao has taken the lead in reviving the Kapu agitation to get back into active politics.
Dasari, who has been in a virtual political oblivion for quite some time, held a meeting of all Kapu leaders at his residence in Hyderabad and decided to take the Kapu reservation agitation to the next level.
Interestingly, his bitter critic, former union minister and Rajya Sabha member Chiranjeevi came to Dasari’s residence to attend the meeting.
Apart from Chiranjeevi, other leaders like Kapu strongman Mudragada Padmbanabham, YSR Congress party leaders Botsa Satyanarayana, Ambati Rambabu and Ummareddy Venkateshwarlu and Congress leader M M Pallam Raju attended the meeting.
Dasari said all the Kapu leaders would rally behind Mudragada in his fight for Kapu reservations. The meeting decided that a meeting would be held on September 11 with Kapu leaders from all the districts.
“We will not rest till Kapus are included in the BCs. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu should fulfil his promise made in his election manifesto,” he said.
