Greater Hyderabad Congress Committee president Danam Nagender is a shrewd politician. He wants to take a plunge into the Telangana Rashtra Samithi, but claims openly that he has no such plans.
But indications are that he might take a call in defecting into the ruling party at an appropriate time.
Sources said Nagender wants to get a firm assurance to his political career from none other than Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. That is why he is not responding to the feelers from other TRS leaders including Harish Rao.
He is learnt to have told his well-wishers that unless he gets a call from KCR directly inviting him into the TRS, he would not take the first move.
For the record, Nagender is saying that some Congress leaders want to shunt him out of the party. But, he would not shift his loyalties to any other party.
He admitted that he was getting offers from the TRS, but it is very common in politics that there would be such invitations from the ruling party.
Danam alleged that a section of people were indulging in false campaigning against him. He lamented that the party was trying to show him door.
Meanwhile, reacting to reports in a section of the media about her future plans, Dr Geeta Reddy stoutly condemned the reports which stated that she was contemplating to join the ruling TRS.
Making it clear that she would not leave the party and remain in the Congress under any circumstances, Geeta Reddy said there was no iota of truth in the press reports.
