With the Telangana Rashtra Samithi rejecting merger as well as alliance with the Congress party, the latter is now trying to woo the Telangana Joint Action Committee leaders into its fold, so as to weaken the TRS.
On Sunday, Telangana Political Joint Action Committee leader Addanki Dayakar and Osmania University JAC leader Shashank joined the Congress party.
Dayakar said that he joined the Congress party to thank Sonia Gandhi for granting statehood for Telangana region. He said Sonia Gandhi turned the six-decade old dream of Telangana into a reality. He said that it was the Congress party that paid real tributes to martyrs by forming Telangana State.
Dayakar also welcomed the announcement made by the Congress party that a BC would be made the first Chief Minister of Telangana. Without naming KCR, he also said that the leader who promised to merge or ally with the Congress should not have backtracked.
Meanwhile, Shashank said that the TRS was trying to take credit for Telangana while thousands of students struggled for the cause. He also alleged that the TRS was getting closer to the communal forces.
