Cong leader repeats Jagan demand in Telangana!

Whenever there is an occasion, YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy challenges his rival Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu to asks the 21 MLAs who defected from the YSRC to the TDP to resign from their posts and contest the by-elections again.

He knows fully well that Naidu cannot accept his demand, as the latter is aware that none of the defectors would get elected again and that would be a big loss of face for the TDP.

In Telangana, the situation is a little different because the people still have some soft corner towards the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi.

More than 25 MLAs defected to the TRS in the last three years, including nearly 10 MLAs from the Congress.

And no Congress leader has openly challenged the TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao to ask these defectors resign, because they know well that almost all of them can get elected on the TRS ticket, if they resign and contest the elections. And, KCR will not allow them to resign because he thinks it is a waste of money.

Now, after three years, AICC secretary Rama Chandra Khuntia, who has recently been elevated to the post of state Congress affairs incharge in place of Digvijaya Singh, thinks he has to throw some challenge to KCR to prove the party’s existence n Telangana.

On Sunday, he challenged KCR to make the MLAs, who had joined the TRS from other parties, resign to their membership of Assembly and get ready for bypolls, if Rao’s surveys on his party’s popularity are really true.

He is of the view that the people were disgusted with the TRS rule.

“If CM KCR is really confident of retaining power in the next elections, he should face bypolls by making all defected members resign from their posts,” the AICC leader challenged.

Any takers?
