Like in other fields, politics is one place where a few politicians appear to be in a completely different league from others.
In fact, such politicians too claim that they are different from the others. They project themselves as intellectuals and people with a clean image. Two politicians who fit this bill perfectly are Sabbam Hari and Purandareswari.
Surprisingly, both of them do things that are in total contrast to what they say and claim. For example, Sabbam Hari would shamelessly support Jagan while being in the Congress. Yet he would claim that he was not one to indulge in small talk. So is the case with Purandareswari.
While she was in the Congress, she was every bit a devoted party member. The Congress too appreciated her efforts by giving her a cabinet berth.
Till about recently, it was perceived that Purandareswari was a decent politician who maintained her decorum by staying away from cheap politics and refusing to deride her opponents. However, the moment she quit politics, her other side has been revealed. One got to see she was no different from other so-called regular politicians.
While joining the BJP, she claimed that she felt insulted by the way she was being treated, then she said she was unhappy about not being promised the Vizag LS seat and of course she blamed the Congress for the state bifurcation. If the last reason was behind her leaving the Congress, then wonder why she chose to join the BJP as the party voted for bifurcation in both houses of Parliament. Also, if she quit Congress for the Vizag seat, how can she say ‘I will contest from wherever the party wants me to contest from’, while joining BJP?
It has become clear that the true colours of politicians will come out only when the right time comes. If the politicians are so confused, then how can one blame the people for being undecided?
