Chappals Continue To Haunt TRS Leaders!

Chappals Continue To Haunt TRS Leaders!

Angry voters in Warangal continue to use 'chappals' as weapons to register their protest and vent their anger at the TRS government over non-fulfillment of its poll promises.

After a farmer threw chappal at Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari during an election meeting recently to protest the failure of TRS government in ensuring minimum support price for their agriculture produce, it was the turn of none other than Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Tuesday.

Though chappals were not thrown directly at KCR in Warangal meeting on Tuesday, some ASHA women workers who are on strike demanding salary hike for the last two months, held their chappals in their hands and shown to KCR till he completed his speech. Some students too shown chappals to KCR demanding filling of vacancies in government departments.

MRPS activists too showed chappals to KCR demanding categorisation of SC reservations.

This display of chappals created a furore in the meeting with TRS activists obstructing them and exchanged heated arguments disrupting the meeting.

A visibly angry CM directed TRS activists to remain calm saying that some people at the behest of Opposition parties are trying to disrupt his meeting and there was no genuinity in their protests.

He said those who have to control such people will control  them and TRS workers should ignore them giving indirect indications to police personnel present there to take care of those who were disrupting his meeting.
