Cash-for-vote case: Why Gov called for secret files?

The sudden decision of Governor E S L Narasimhan to summon CID top officer Charu Sinha and called for secret files of the cash-for-vote scam recently has raised many an eyebrow.

Till now, the Governor has been maintaining silence till now and has not interfered in the case, though it was a very big issue. But now all of a sudden, he is asking for charge sheet copies, while the case was under trial in the court.

One of the accused in sensational cash-for-vote scam R Harry Sebastian felt the Telangana government may be thinking of taking action against the accused in the case.

He also said that he was facing threat from Telangana government and he had filed a petition in court seeking security.

Flaying Opposition leader and YSR Congress president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, Sebastian said that the news of Governor seeking case details was published in a Telugu Daily, owned by Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, only.

“This may be evident that Jagan was conspiring over the case to embarrass Andhra Pradesh government” he said and added “Jagan was conspiring to topple the government and belittle Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu”.
