Capital Committee Votes For Land Pooling

The committee for land acquisition met Chief Minister Chandra Babu Naidu and discussed the best possible options to procure land for the construction of the new capital city of Andhra Pradesh.

Municipal Minister Narayana and other committee members were part of the meeting.

During the meeting, it was decided that the land will be procured without causing any losses to the farmers and by suitably compensating them.

Since land acquisition will mean that the government will snatch land from farmers, the committee felt that it would be best to opt for land pooling, by making farmers stakeholders in the process.

Though the committee members put forth their suggestions, a final decision is yet to be made regarding the matter.

However, since the government is trying to build the new capital on private land instead of making use of government land, it is drawing criticism from various quarters.
