New Delhi: Sharad Pawar celebrated his 76th birthday on Monday, and his supporters had planned week long programmes to mark the big day. But the NCP chief skipped both Mumbai and Baramati, and, instead, chose to bring in his birthday with some close friends and family in Goa.
This year's bash was pretty low-key, compared to his 75th that was held in Delhi and had several high profile guests, including Narendra Modi.
Goa and its relatively quieter environs would have provided the NCP honcho time to reflect on how quickly things can change in one's life, and in a single year.
Last year, around this time, Pawar was tipped to be the prez. But now, with the NCP's for tunes on a slide, keeping things low-key is probably key for the Maratha strongman.
