Both CMs Abstain From Governor Party!

At a time when everybody was waiting with curiosity as to whether Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Chief Ministers N Chandrababu Naidu and K Chandrasekhar Rao respectively would shake hands at Raj Bhavan on Saturday, both of them played truant.

In a bid to avoid each other, both Naidu and KCR abstained from the customary “At Home” get-together hosted by Governor of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh States ESL Narasimhan on Saturday evening, as part of the Independence Day celebrations.

This is perhaps for the first time that the Governor’s party took place without the presence of a Chief Minister.

The Governor who went around the tables of invitees and wished them cordially had a brief interaction with the scribes. When asked, the Governor stated that the two Chief Ministers are absent.

“There must be some reason for their absence, but I do not know the reason,” he said. Probably Naidu is busy with Pattiseema project while KCR must be busy with something else, he opined.

When asked whether At Home had lost its charm due to their absence, Narasimhan said: “Why  do you think so? I am charming at the event. Till my last day in Hyderabad, I will be available to both the Chief Ministers, he said. Nonetheless, things will fall in line and let us not draw any conclusions he added.
