BJP Reaches Out To Allies, Too Late For Naidu

BJP Reaches Out To Allies, Too Late For Naidu

With 2019 elections just around the corner, the BJP has taken upon itself, the task of reaching out to its allies.

One of the major criticisms against the BJP is that the party became arrogant after securing an absolute majority in 2014 and ignored its allies completely including the TDP which severed ties with the NDA recently over the SCS issue.

Even the BJP has realised that the way it has dealt with its allies has not been entirely satisfactory and party chief Amit hah will be meeting Shiva Sena supremo Uddhav Thackeray today in Mumbai.

On Thursday, Shah will also be meeting Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) chief Parkash Singh Badal and his son Sukhbir and a meeting between BJP and NDA partners in Bihar, namely JDU, LJP and RLSP, is also to take place.

Interestingly, all these allies said that while they were not entirely satisfied with the way BJP has treated them, there was no question of leaving the NDA.

Besides, given that the Modi magic is not as strong as it was in 2014; the allies stand a chance of getting better concessions this time.

Unfortunately for Naidu, he has neatly walked into Jaganmohan Reddy’s trap.

Pressurized heavily by the YSRCP on the special status issue, Naidu was forced to sever ties with the BJP.

Now, even if he manages to emerge victorious in 2019, the finances of the State will be the same unless of course, a third front comes to power at the Centre that is favourably disposed to Naidu.

All in all, Naidu seems to walked so far down the road with his criticism of the BJP that there seems to be no chance of a reconciliation, especially after the yellow media went into a massive overdrive against the BJP.

The only puzzling thing is: Why is he still continuing with the services of Parakala Prabhakar?
