Big joke: Naidu preaches values in politics!

Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu is also speaking of declining values in politics.

Naidu, who had indulged brazen horse-trading of MLAs belonging to YSR Congress party by spending crores of rupees and even offered cabinet posts to some of them, is now talking like a saint.

On Saturday, Naidu expressed concern over declining of values in politics, as was evident in the ongoing political drama in Karnataka.

Naidu alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party is indulging in unethical practices to capture power in Karnataka, though it does not have any majority in the assembly.

“The political situation is Karnataka is horrible. The BJP is trying to undermine democratic principles and come to power through horse-trading,” he said.

The TDP president said the BJP had resorted to conspiratorial politics in Tamil Nadu after the death of former chief minister J Jayalalithaa.

“Now, it is trying to do the same in Karnataka. Mining barons Gali Janardhan Reddy and his brothers were openly indulging in bargaining of MLAs from rival camps.

What did Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah said before the elections and what are they doing now? What message are they giving with their undemocratic policies?” he asked.

Naidu also castigated the centre for destroying the institution of Governors.

“The Governors have become stooges of the Centre. They have failed uphold the democracy in their states,” he said.

He also indirectly attacked his rival YSR Congress party and its president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy and also his Telangana counterpart K Chandrasekhar Rao for keeping silent on the Karnataka political developments.

“Those who are talking about democracy and bringing about qualitative changes in politics are not uttering a single word on the murder of democracy in Karnataka. Why have they become muted?” Naidu asked.
