The sudden death of senior politician and Nandyal MLA Bhuma Nagi Reddy due to heart attack on Sunday is likely to fetch the cabinet berth to his daughter and Allagadda MLA Bhuma Akhila Priya.
Though Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Naidu was hesitating to accommodate Bhuma Nagi Reddy in the cabinet on technical grounds because of the reservations expressed by Governor E S L Narasimhan, he is learnt to have changed his mind after Bhuma’s death.
He reportedly conveyed to Akhila Priya through his son Lokesh that she would be taken into the cabinet and the government would personally take care of the development of Nandyal and Allagadda constituencies.
Apparently, Naidu is wary of the talk that Bhuma had a heart attack because of frustration that he might not get the cabinet berth due on technical grounds – a disqualification petition is pending against him for shifting loyalties from the YSR Congress party to the TDP.To overcome this negative campaign, Naidu has no option but to accommodate Akhila Priya in the cabinet.
Moreover, it will also get political mileage to Naidu as there will be talk that he has done justice to Bhuma’s family!
