Bhuma suffers heart attack, critical

Senior politician and Nandyal MLA Bhuma Nagi Reddy suffered a massive heart attack on Sunday morning. His condition is critical, according to latest reports.

Bhuma, who had shifted loyalties from YSR Congress party to the Telugu Desam Party last year, met TDP president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu in Vijayawada on Thursday along with the MPTCs and ZPTCs supporting the party in the ongoing MLC elections. He returned to his residence Allagadda late in the night.

At around 8.30 am on Sunday morning, Bhuma suffered a massive stroke and he was immediately shifted to a private hospital at Allagadda. Later, he was shifted to Nandyal hospital for better treatment. He was kept on ventilator. Doctors said his condition is critical. His daughter Akhila Priya, who was in Ahobilam in the morning, rushed to Nandyal.

Naidu called up Akhila and assured that the government would take care of all the necessary needs to provide him better treatment.

He also spoke to Kurnool collector and asked him to arrange a helicopter to shift Bhuma to Hyderabad, if necessary. “I pray for his recovery,” Naidu tweeted.

This is the third time that Bhuma suffered the heart attack. In the past, he also underwent a bypass surgery for his heart ailment, party sources said.
