Time and again, Rahul Gandhi has been attacking Modi about the Gujarat riots of 2003. In a recent media interaction, Rahul Gandhi once again said that despite the Supreme Court giving Modi a clean chit, he personally believed that the judiciary had not investigated the riots thoroughly and that Modi was a culprit.
This is nothing short of making a mockery of the judiciary and what is even more irritating is the fact that even when Rahul Gandhi is asked a question related to development in a particular sphere, he reverts to the Gujarat episode.
Why does Rahul not take the same stance with respect to the massacre of the Sikhs in 1984, following the assassination of Indira Gandhi? Congress leaders including Sajjan Kumar have been accused in the case.
But thirty years down the line, they are yet to be convicted. Why then does Rahul not ask for a more thorough probe into the genocide perpetrated by his own Party men?
Modi is definitely to blame for the Gujarat riots as much as the Congress is for the 1984 violence. But merely stoking up the issues to gain political mileage or score a few brownie points is nothing but dirty politics!
