Behind The Scene: PK@500 vs PK@50

Behind The Scene: PK@500 vs PK@50

One major incident that became the talk of the town during 2014 elections was the sudden emergence of Pawan Kalyan or PK on the political scene.

Well, he did work for the Praja Rajyam party, but that was a damp squib. So, by 2014, PK had a better plan of action or so he claimed.

He launched Jana Sena party and said that it would be a clean party that would stay off political contests, but nevertheless would remain true to its agenda and question the political biggies.

Then, suddenly, Pawan Kalyan started to extend his support to Chandra Babu Naidu and gossip mills went abuzz that he was paid a whopping Rs 500 crore for doing his bit.

Now, no one knows if the package figure was right or wrong, but Pawan has been consistently supporting Babu despite all controversies, land pooling issue and other financial loopholes.

He has maintained his party would question Babu and his ilk, but one never heard Pawan raising his voice.

By now, almost everyone was convinced that Pawan would no longer question TDP or any political party for that matter.

And in keeping with public estimation, Pawan too took to holding public meetings to support TDP in Tirupati and Kakinada.

It has to be remembered here that Pawan had cleverly targeted Rayalaseema which happens to be a stronghold of YSRCP.

To cut a long story short, now it was YSRCP's turn to rope in their very own PK and this came in the form of Prashant Kishore.

The maverick political strategist who was instrumental in the success of Narendra Modi, the man behind electoral success of Nitish Kumar and Capt Amarendir Singh in Punjab has been hired for Rs 50 crore by the party.

Since Prashant Kishore is a political consultant, his charges have been made public and he is now being looked upon as a messiah in YSRCP.

Already a few changes are on the anvil say party insiders and the main objective is to use the edge the party has among grassroot workers vis-à-vis TDP, it is being said.

With both PKs getting ready for action, it will be interesting to see how things will shape up during 2019 elections.
