Knowing fully well that the Supreme Court had in an earlier judgement, declared that 'Aadhar' was not mandatory for availing of essential services, the TDP government set about making it mandatory for various schemes of the government including the controversial 'loan waiver', Registrations, LPG etc.
Now, the Supreme Court has once again come to the rescue of the common man.
It warned the Central and State governments against denying civil rights and social welfare benefits to citizens for not having an Aadhar card and threatened to take action against the authorities concerned if they made it mandatory.
Many Seemandhra people living in Hyderabad will benefit from this move as a majority of them have properties back home in Andhra Pradesh but Aadhar cards in Telangana. The Suprme Court judgement should come as a huge relief to them.
