Balayya In Soup For Foul-Mouthing Modi

Telugu Desam Party MLA from Hindupur and senior actor Nandamuri Balakrishna has landed in soup for his alleged offensive and abusive comments against Prime Minister Narendra Modi made at the one-day hunger strike of his brother-in-law, Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Friday.

The BJP on Saturday lodged a criminal case against Balakrishna in Osmania University police demanding that stringent action be taken against him for using derogatory language against Modi, who holds the highest position in the country.

“He lost all kinds of decency and does not know how to respect a Prime Minister. How dare he can call upon the people to chase and beat up Modi?” BJP MLC N Ramachandra Rao, who filed the complaint, said.

The police are expected to register a case after going through the video clipping and the complaint of the BJP.

At the same time, a delegation of BJP leaders from Andhra Pradesh led by party floor leader in the assembly P Vishnu Kumar Raju also submitted a memorandum to Governor E S L Narasimhan, asking him to dismiss Balakrishna from his assembly membership. The delegation also demanded that he be arrested immediately.

The actor, who represents Hindupur assembly constituency in Anantapur, accused Modi of playing politics of Shikandi (eunuch) and Kojja (Hijra) to attack the TDP.

He also called the Prime Minister "gaddar" (traitor) and "namak haram" (cheat) for going back on the promise of granting special category status to Andhra Pradesh.
