Balakrishna Not to Contest in Next Polls?

The latest political gossip is that Nandamuri Balakrishna, who is currently representing as MLA form Hindupur assembly constituency, will not be contesting the next polls.

Seeing growing dissatisfaction among voters in his constituency regarding his performance as MLA and also allegations of corruption by his former PA, he is said to have felt that his image has taken a beating.

He doesn't want to contest in the next general elections in the same constituency. He wants to move to another place in Krishna district.

If his bava and Telugu Desam party chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu doesn't accept to his proposal, he may not contest the direct polls. He may go for MLC seat, a source close to Balakrishna said.

There is a talk that assembly elections will be held next year as per Prime Minister Modi's plan of "One Nation One-time Polls". So, Balakrishna doesn't have enough time to do the development works to win the hearts of Hindupur people in the next one year.

The constituency in Ananthapur district is traditionally considered as Telugu Desam party's fort as Telugu Desam party candidates are only getting elected from here since 1985.

Balakrishna's father late NT Rama Rao won three times from here and his brother Hari Krishna got elected as MLA in 1996.

If Balakrishna really moves from Hindupur to another constituency in AP, it will damage the party severely. Currently, Balakrishna is working for Puri Jagannadh's movie. After this he will be launching another film in the direction of K S Ravikumar.
