Balaiah Surrenders To Babu

As expected, Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu has been re-elected as the leader of TD Legislature Party, which paved way for his anointment as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh State.

And there was not even a single voice in favour of his brother-in-law and senior actor Nandamuri Balakrishna. In fact, Balakrishna himself showered praises on Naidu saying that he was the only capable leader in the party to lead the state into the path of development.

“I am confident that the State would regain its past glory in the dynamic leadership of Chandrababu Naidu,” he said. He also added that he had no interest in any political post and that he would strive for building of the TDP in Hindupur.

Though there were some voices before the elections that Balakrishna should be declared as the CM candidate, nobody dared to come out in the open after the elections, in which the TDP emerged victorious.

Even Balakrishna, who had earlier said several times that he was ready to don the mantle of the CM, if he got a chance, meekly surrendered to Naidu after the elections. He will now only play a second fiddle to Naidu in the Assembly. He may at the most get a Cabinet post.
