APNGOs association president Ashok Babu, who virtually went into hiding after the passage of Telangana bill by Lok Sabha on Tuesday last, surfaced on Saturday, trying to make political statements.
He told media at the APNGOs office, Ashok Babu said the Seemandhra people would never forgive the Congress and BJP, which were responsible for bifurcation of the State.
He lamented that the BJP had assured to respect the State Assembly resolution rejecting the draft Telangana Bill, but it failed to keep up the promise at crucial time.
He reminded that the BJP had supported the Telangana Bill not only in the Lok Sabha but also in the Rajya Sabha.
He accused the BJP of cooperating with the Centre for passage of the Telangana Bill in Loka Sabha in just 20 minutes.
He said the Congress and the BJP would pay heavy price for mortgaging the interests of Seemandhra region for their political gains.
Ashok Babu said the Congress government’s rejection of amendments to the Bill moved by Opposition parties in the Rajya Sabha indicated its hostile attitude.
The people of Seemandhra have satisfaction of fighting the bifurcation till the last minute will not be forgotten, he claimed.
