Former minister and Kapu strongman Mudragada Padmanabham is not leaving any chance to take a dig at his arch rival – Andhra Pradesh chief minister and Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu; even it requires praising his Telangana counterpart K Chandrasekhar Rao.
On Monday, Mudragada wrote a letter to KCR and lavished praises on him for implementing the promises he had made in the Telangana Rashtra Samithi manifesto before 2014 elections.
“It is commendable on your part to implement the pre-poll promises made to the people in such a short time, without giving any scope for the opposition parties to stage dharnas, rasta rokos and protest rallies.
As Chief Justice of Supreme Court rightly mentioned, election manifestoes are not just waste papers. And you have proved it,” he said.
Mudragada went to the extent of comparing KCR with Ambedkar for enhancing reservations for Muslims and Scheduled Tribes.
“The way you appointed two commissions, got their reports on time and introducing a bill in the assembly based on the reports recommending to the Centre for implementation of reservations shows that you are following the path of Ambedkar,” he said.
And the Kapu strongman chose the occasion to take a dig at Naidu.
“Like you, every chief minister should respect the feelings of the people who voted for them; but, not like our chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu who used police forces to crush the agitation of the people who only wanted him to implement the poll promises.
The police used foul language against them and wielded lathis at them. Let the other chief ministers not follow Naidu,” he said.
Mudragada also appealed to KCR to win the hearts of the people with welfare schemes and developmental programmes to come to power, but not through buying of votes like our chief minister (Naidu).
“I wholeheartedly appreciate your rule,” he said.
