The hype and hungama created by a section of media supporting the Chandrababu Naidu government over the inauguration of interim secretariat complex at Velagapudi in Amaravati has turned out be a big hoax within 24 hours.
The Secretariat employees who came in large numbers in specially arranged buses on June 29 quietly returned to Hyderabad in the same evening after giving poses to the media at the ground floor of the Secretariat which was given some temporary make-up for the day.
The entire complex turned into a cess pool with heavy rains with slushy pathway and heaps of garbage. Ministers Ch Ayyanna Patrudu and K Mrinalini went there for a day and stopped from the very next day.
The works are still going on and there is no way the administration can work from the spot. Yet, the government is trying to give a build-up that it has shifted the entire administration from Amaravati! What an irony?
