With just 15 days left for the polling in Nandyal by-elections, the ruling Telugu Desam Party is running from pillar to post seeking support from all sections of people to ensure the victory of its candidate Bhuma Brahmanand Reddy, nephew of late MLA Bhuma Nagi Reddy.
As part of the attempts, Nagi Reddy’s daughter and Tourism Minister Bhuma Akhila Priya is learnt to have decided to meet power star and Jana Sena party chief Pawan Kalyan to seek his support for her cousin.
Pawan said the other day that he would take a decision on his support to the candidates in Nandyal in a couple of days. But so far, he has not come out with any such statement.
Pawan Kalyan is known to have good relations with the Bhuma family and Akhila wants to capitalise on that. There are nearly 40,000 Balija voters in Nandyal and she hopes they would favour the TDP candidate, if Pawan comes out with his support.
The Jana Sena leader, however, wants to focus mainly to get active in politics and stay away from the Nandyal by-elections.
He announced that he will be actively involved in politics from October. Now, with TDP leaders reaching out to Pawan Kalyan, it is to be seen whether he would extend support to the party.
