These days, Andhra Jyothy managing director Vemuri Radhakrishna has become more loyal than king with respect to Telangana government headed by K Chandrasekhar Rao.
It was evident from the way Andhra Jyothy has been publishing a series of pro-government articles in the last few days.
On Monday, the daily has carried a lead story on cautioning the farmers who are going to lose their lands under the Mallannasagar project in Medak district.
The article said the farmers would be put to heavy losses, if they demand compensation under Land Acquisition Act and reject the offer given by the KCR government as per GO 123.
It clearly supports the argument put forth by the TRS government, saying that the farmers would get more money than what they would get as per the LA Act.
The Andhra Jyothy daily did not go into the root of the problem, while blindly supporting KCR. It has not made any study as to whether the project is really beneficial to the people; what exactly they are demanding and what is the secret behind issuing the GO.
Many irrigation experts have pointed out that the project is not viable as it is not possible to lift so much water into the reservoir even during flood season. It tries to support the KCR government’s plan to project that the farmers are anti-Telangana!
