After SSR, Naidu ropes in Krish for Amaravati!

After seeking the assistance of national award-winning director S S Rajamouli in designing the historic capital city of Amaravati, Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu is now said to be planning to rope Jagarlamudi Krish, the director of latest blockbuster film Gautamiputra Satakarni to design the capital project.

Apart from Krish, Naidu is also planning to ask art director Anand Sai, who designed the sets for Satakarni to chip in with his concept for the city.

The Naidu government has already finalised Foster and Partners of Britain as the Master Architect for the capital designs. Top Indian architect Hafiz Contractor is partnering with Foster in designing two “iconic structures” — the High Court and the Legislature Complex — apart from the master plan for the 900-acre core capital area.

Even as the AP Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) approached Rajamouli, the master director of Baahubali, seeking his assistance for the capital designs, the Chief Minister has now directed the CRDA authorities to consult Krish and Sai also for necessary “inputs”.

Sai worked as an art director for many popular Telugu films like Indra, Badrinath, Yamadonga and is now serving the Telangana government on its ambitious Yadadri temple town project.

Naidu, who watched Gautamiputra Satakarni starring his brother-in-law Nandamuri Balakrishna in the lead role, was very much impressed with the grandeur of the film that supposedly depicts the history of Amaravati. He immediately asked the CRDA to contact Krish and Sai.

“The CM has asked us to contact Krish, so we will take inputs and suggestions from him and also Sai,” Municipal Administration Minister P Narayana said.
