If the speculations doing rounds in the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi are true, senior IPS officer A K Khan, who is presently Director General of Police (Anti-Corruption Bureau), is likely to be nominated to the Rajya Sabha.
Khan would be retiring at the end of this year and it is unlikely that he would get an extension for his services.
However, chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is very much impressed with him despite being from Anantapur, especially for his pro-active steps in the cash-for-vote scam.
At the same time, Khan was also instrumental in responsible for establishment of minorities residential welfare schools, besides exposing scams in the Shaadi Mubaarak scheme.
Recently, the chief minister, in a meeting with members of the Muslim community, indicated that he would nominate Muslims for Rajya Sabha and MLC seats. Apparently, he made the announcement keeping in view Khan, say sources.
