After the horrifying tragedy at Godavari Pushkaralu in which 28 people were killed, Chandrababu Naidu instituted a one-man commission headed by Somayajulu to probe the tragedy.
Prima facie, the government and the CM are directly responsible for the tragedy. But to date, the commission has been dragging its feet over the issue.
The Commission has postponed its next hearing to June 14. The tragedy happened on July 14, 2015. One year and there is still no accountability!
The results of the inquiry are important because the Krishna Pushkarams are starting on August 12, 2016. How will the government know where it went wrong in its arrangements unless it expedites the probe and makes public, the findings of the commission?
Can we afford another such tragedy and the loss of lives of our people due to the inefficiency of the government?
How will the people know the government has learnt from its mistake and they can therefore attend the Krishna event with absolute confidence?
